Wrong Perceptions : Who cares

Does it happened to you that the people have some wrong perceptions about you and think exactly opposite to your personality? It has happened to me quiet a few times. However someone's thinking really do not affect me but still before one dont know me how can they judge or make perceptions about me.

A couple of years back, one of my close friend told me that in the very first few initial meeting, she thought that i have got a lot of attitude and it's going to tough to be with me. But when we started knowing each other, she found me completely different. I  gel up with people easily but when it comes to approach some one personally for the first time or in initial conversations, i hesitate to take the first step. But once i get in touch with one, i try to maintain our relationship loyally.
The other thing is, if i do not find a frequency match in thinking with someone, i try to maintain a distance between us. So that even if we do not agree on some point, we can share a healthy relationship. If you think this as i am giving you attitude, i don't care. I don't want to waste my time thinking in all these craps.
Recently i got to know that one of my colleagues was telling someone else the same thing. I have communicated him multiple times and found that we think exactly in two opposite directions which made me to communicate with him on very required  topics. If he so thinks that we can be friend, why don't he talk to me directly.

Initially, when i leaned that what someone is talking about me on my back, i used to get annoyed as he/she is trying to ruin my name in public but after a few times, i realize, who knows me will not believe the other one and who  don't know me why the hell should i explain this to them.
Now I am a person who really don't care what image people have about me and live the life as i want it to be like a free bird... ;)
Did you face the same thing ever?

IIFA Awards 2011

Here are some pictures from the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2011 held on  June 25 in Toronto, Canada. I see a lot of pics/news on the internet about the event and their  style that i can not help commenting on them.
White and nude shades seemed dominated in the event.

Genelia D'souza
Genelia D'souza in a gown designed by Gaurav gupta. I absolutely love the color and the frilly deign. Her knotted hair make suits to the overall look. I so love this girl and carries everything very beautifully.

Shilpa Shetty with her Husband Raj Kundra.
She, in a sequined Dolce & Gabbana gown, makes one of my favorite  dressed celebrities in the iifa. It perfectly kisses all the curves so well.

Malaika Arora Khan
She was spotted looking fab as always in a cut-out Monisha Jaising gown and Maheep Kapoor's earrings. I always have a been a big fan of malaika arora's style and the way she carry herself is just fabulous.

Anushka Sharma
She looked poised in a Sabyasachi at the IIFA. Use of minimum accessories/jewelry made this saari even more glam. Its very simple, fresh yet chic.

Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chpra in Manish Malhotra's designed dress. She look so elegant and beautiful in the outfit. I specially like its lace work on the dress and the blue touch in the blouse.

Bipasha Basu
Bipasha Basu in Nude Ramona Narang dress.
She really had bad day in IIFA and had been found wearing same dresses that her co-actor's wearing

Dia Mirza
Dia is looking so beautiful in this Blumarine Maxi dress. Its so chic and beautiful in person  specially the neckline but i still feel like something is missing for the occasion. May be its accessories or something else.

 Lisa Ray
Lisa Ray was missing in this edgy but not fun dress with belts around the waist and shoulder. She look fab in a maroon grown, tribal esque necklace with colorful outfit and the   perfect hair do.

Neha Dhoopia
I loved Neha’s look on the green carpet. The Make-up, hair and polka-dots gown from Lanvin made for a great combination.

Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha in walked on green carpet in Alexander McQueen dress.Tan heels, McQueen clutch and red lips completed Sonakshi’s look but she could have picked up the better shoes.

As a Cook.

Lately i have been thinking about how i have grown up as a cook in last few years. If you have read here, i have been a tomboy till my graduation initial year and after that even i changed my look and style, i was or must say i am still a tomboy from heart. I hardly had cooked anything till my graduation(as i did my graduation from my home town and you always have the luxury of not doing anything and demanding more when you are at home). My mum and friends used to say that i cannot boil even water properly. Yes its true.I was a totally spoiled child and I really had bad, very very bad experiences whenever i tried something.
After the graduation i left home for the job in Mumbai and than realize how much i miss the home food. Thank god i got roommates like Latika and Sheetal  who are amazing cook and being in their company i also started cooking.I started with daal and rice and now i can prepare almost everything. This time when my parents visited us i prepared a few of my secret recipes, my mom was amazed how i got to learn all this cooking stuff. She knew that i generally cook but was not that sure that i can cook so well. Thank you so much girls. LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

Now its time for the home made spicy (Paneer) Veg Frankie that i  prepared last week. You can find the recipe on google but i still want to share it with you... ;)

Ingredients:
1. 1 medium Onion (finely diced)
2. 1-2 tomato (finely diced)
3. Garlic and Ginger  paste - 2 tbs
4. Green chilli - 2 (finely diced)
5. Cabbage- 60 gm (finely diced)
6. Paneer (Cheese ) cubes - 100 gm (optional)
7. Maida(Rice Flour) - 1 cup
8. Milk - ½ cup
9. Salt - As required
10 .Chilli powder - ½ tsp
11. Coriander powder - ½ tsp
12. Cumin powder - ½ tsp
13.
Cooking soda -¼ tsp
14. Butter - As required
15. garam masala - ½ tsp

Directions:
1. Mix maida, cooking soda, salt, in milk to form a batter and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
2. Heat butter in a frying pan, add ginger-garlic paste, green chilli and cook for 2 mins.
3. Add onion, tomato, Cabbage, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, some water and let the contents cook for some time.
4. add paneer if you want.
5. When the vegetables are cooked, remove the pan from the stove.
6. prepare small size chapati(bread ) from the dough and cook it for few seconds on both the sides(if should not get tight or crispy). Add some butter on both the sides.
7.Place the vegetable mixture in the chapati and roll it.
8. Wrap them in the tissue paper and serve Hot.

And Here comes the output of the recipe:

Every one has their own version of their recipe and we Indian (generally) loves spicy food. However you can update the recipe based on the availability of the vegetables and masala powders. Its really very flexible and taste yummmy..

So whats you guys doing over the weekend?

(Not so) Formal Look

The best thing i like about my current office is that you don't need to be in the complete formal dress. You can dress up with the way you are comfortable like some formal, casual or traditional look. They don't care about how you are dressed but they are more interested in your work. That's actually good, i don't need to dress up in the boring formal look everyday. But it takes a lot of time in the morning to decide when you are allowed the casual wear in the office and for me its even worst to wake up in the morning, fix the breakfast and get ready for the office. I hardly have reached office at 9 pm(unless there is some meeting or calls in the morning). Does it happens to you too or you are punctual for the timings?

I wore this outfit on the other day for the office and i am totally in love with this shirt. This Shirt i saw on Fashion and You and fall in love in first sight. I got it delivered quiet some time back but have not wear it ever. While cleaning up the wardrobe last week i found it lying in a side and i immediately got it out to style it for the office.

Shirt: Entise (from F&U )
Jeggings: Lee
Shoes: Bata
Bag: AIVA (from yebhi mention it here)
Belt and Bracelet: Local boutique

I recently bought these ballerina from bata for as low as INR 300($6). Brand new shoes just for $6. Can you believe this. They are really cute, comfy and perfect for the rainy season.

Random conversation with Husband #1

Last week, We had a reception party of one of my colleague. Here is a conversation with the husband.

Husband: Which shirt should i wear (Showing two shirts)?
Swati : This one (selecting one)

Husband: ok.. but i could not find the shoes for this in the shoe rack.
Swati: Just check the bedroom wardrobe. There are more shoes. (I dont have a big shoe rack. So shoes that i do not use in daily life, i kept them in boxes of the room wardrobe)

Husband : There are a no of boxes. can you check?(thinking.... I dont want to check all the boxes.)
Swati : Baby, i am wearing the saari. Could you check it by yourself.(wearing saari is really a big task for me and Hubby dear knows that.)

Husband opened the first box, than second, than third and could not find his shoes in the wardrobe.

Husband: You really have loads of shoes.(Having a question mark on his face)

MORAL OF THE STORY: Husbands really don't know what and how much (of anything) is there in your home.
I do most of my shopping with husband and he is the one who  always encourage to buy when i am confused about something. Even than he don't remember all of that but that's good for me and i can shop more, more and more .....  LOL.

First 3 months of blogging!!

In Last few days, i have noticed that i have start getting the new visitors from on my blog. It really means that my blog is finding its existence in the big world and m loving it. The first three months of blogging have really been great and i have found some amazing people here.
I also noticed that my follower numbers is increasing/ decreasing by 2 people. I get a new follower and one stop me following. Which make me feel like do i write so bad. Let me clarify, I am not a professional writer. In fact this is my first attempt in writing anything, so i cannot be the best but i am trying to improve.
Other thing, People starts following the blog and expect follow them Back and i really do. But after a few days back they stop following back(This is not the first time that has happed, Its been more than 3-4 times). If you are really not interested in reading my blog, don't just follow me for the sake of increasing the follower in your list. And if you stop following it after i follow you, do you think i am moron and i'll not get to know.
I follow the blogs in two scenarios:
1.I like some blog and i do mention that i am following their blog.
I do not mean that coz i have followed their blog, they have to follow me back. I follow them coz i liked their blog and want to read more from the blog(However if they follow back, i do not mind. Who do not want the readers.) and most of the blogs that i follow do not follow me. So why do i mention that i am following them? Only because i can get attention and  be in contact with the blogger.
2. Someone starts following me.
I generally follow them back coz i find it a good way to interact with new people. And we get to know people only after being in touch with them. Its not like i am just returning their favor.

For any new visitor, i'll just say PLEASE FOLLOW ME ONLY IF YOU GENUINELY LIKE THE BLOG. You might find me rude but thats the way i am.

Last but not the least,I am really Thankful to the people who really like my blog for its originality. THANKS AGAIN.

PS :  Shopaholic Jiya is hosting a give away on her blog which is open internationally. She would find the closest option of specification on her websites and send it to u.
The give away will close  by June 12, 3.00AM IST (5.30 PM EST). To visit the blog click here

Its my Birthday.

Yes, this is the day when i came to this world 6783 days before(don't be scared. i have not calculated the days manually) . Birthday is always the best day of the year as you get the text/ call from all the family , friends and relatives to whom you have not ever talked since months. You'll start getting calls since mid night and even they will call you in the early hours of the days(the time you, at-least me, do not even wake in normal days).
We had a mid night birthday celebration that was planned by Husband. He had an office party last night. so he secretly got the cake and hide it somewhere at home and than left for the party. He came late from the party and i thought, he might forgot to get the cake(i have checked the fridge). But he got it from somewhere at exactly 12 and made me feel special again(as he always do).

Other than the calls and wishes, its a normal day. I am working even today **sub sub** but yeah definitely go for a dinner with hubby. I wish i have my family and friends with me here in Hyderabad and we could party hard till late night. But never mind, will surely gonna enjoy with the hubby dear.
